Festival BD:
Quand les femmes s’emparent des bulles!

During the festival an exhibition located in the Atrium of the Quai d’Orsay, will display a selection of comics. The exhibition is divided into three different sections:

Program:
- Wednesday, March 15, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm: “Drawing Invisible Women: The Complicated History of the Bande Dessinée’s Female Figures”.
Keynote speaker: Catriona Macleod
Location: Combes C-102
Catriona MacLeod, author of Invisible Presence: the Representation of Women in French-language Comics will discuss the history of female representation in the bande dessinée medium, the difficulties even celebrated artists have expressed with drawing women, and the ways in which the drawn landscape is finally changing.
The Bookstore “Tome 7” will have a stand and will be selling a selection of books during this event.
- Wednesday, March 22: “Coin lecture” – Reading corner
Location: Atrium – Quai d’Orsay
Come and enjoy a cozy space created for this specific occasion, to discover and read French bande dessinées/comics alone or in a group.

- Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm: “Sippin’ Sisters: Women in Literature”

Join Morgan Rose, Morgan Smith (ReSisters club leaders) and Melody Gray for a night of conversation and snacks in collaboration with the Festival BD!

Sara Lomuscio, former student from the School Jean Trubert (école d’illustration, BD et concept art à Paris) will held this workshop and coach you how to create a comic strip.
